Need a boat in Isla Mujeres for Jan 08

I need some help finding a boat to charter in Isla Mujeres Mexico for 2 days January 28-30, 2008. We have Capt Fin on Qualifier reserved for Saturday 1/26/08 but he and most of the other OI boys are booked up for Mon-Tues. Any leads are appreciated!

Also, any recommendations on where to stay while on the island? We would prefer to stay on Isla rather than Cancun this time.

Anthony Mendillo will put you on 'em....and he has some awesome grouper holes if the sailfish bite is slow. Anthony is an American that now lives on Isla, definitely knows what he is doing.

Avalon Reef Club is all inclusive. My wife and I stayed there last February. We enjoyed it. Reasonably priced. Get a villa. Nice not to have to reach into your pocket all the time. Short walk to downtown areas. I think most OI boats are docked at the downtown marina. Has a couple of it's own small private beaches. There were several groups of guys down on fishing trips that were staying there. Food and drink were pretty much always available. Not a 5 star hotel or restaurant but pretty good for the money and we thought the location was great. There is a small restaurant downtown on the waterfront(I forgot the name) a few hundred yards down from the taxi stand. They will fry up whole hog fish for you and you can pick out your lobster from their cage on the dock. It has a covered area with seating and seating on the beach out back(all outdoors). Best place we ate at. We ate there twice. Very reasonably priced and you eat like kings. No fancy stuff. Just good food.
Hotel Rolandi has one of the nicer restaurants on the island. We enjoyed it for a night out. The cab ride was pretty long and we thought the food was good but not great. I think our expectations were pretty high after all of the recommendations. Hope this helps. I think that others might be more helpful with the fishing recommendations. We were invited to fish with a friend who had a boat there.

Capt. Will Ross is taking the "Haphazard" from Pirates Cove along with Jeff on the "Obsession", Walt Spruill on the "Hunter", Dennis on the "Asalt-Weapon" not sure of there openings but they are usually pretty booked up. Might be worth a call. The marina can get you in touch with them 252-473-3906, good luck.
