Had a big thing going on at work scheduled for Monday which prevented us from entering the OCMC Small Boat Tourney. Decided that the weather looked good enough to try and fish a half day inshore. Left the dock at 0330 hoping for a first light bluefin and then maybe some sea bass.
Once we cleared the inlet, I was faced with flat swells and a decision to make. Decided to take advantage and run 31 knots to the 50 line south of the Balt. Plan B was to fish a few hours and haul *** back in. Glad we changed plans. Lines in around 0545 fished until 1100 and ended up with 3 yfts between 40 and 50 lbs plus a small mahi. We also pulled the hook on one and broke another off when the main line somehow got caught up in the rigger, or rod holder on the t-top. We were with Blackjack and a few other buddy boats when the whites popped up, but had to troll west to get home.....
All in all, wish we could have fished out the day, but it was fun anyway....work thing is over, hopefully I can get some fishing time in now.
