In response to your PM Fishdad...

I snell mine and have had reall good success. I just automatically snelled mine as in my opinion a snell increases a circle hooks effectiveness. I snell hooks for tarpon and tuna and everything else on a circle. My live bait marlin baits are 400lb snelled to 20/0's. Heres the snell and the finished squid. Good luck!

and thankyou Cap! What do you feel about the snell/swage thing? I have always thought the snell helped the hook to find the jaw. Your experience and thoughts would be appreciated.

I did that this summer in response to a guy having problems with a snell. Thankyou though!

Thanks Capt Mike. Now just need the wind to stop blowing to test them out. The only concern I have with the 300 lb mono snell is the way the hook point is turned inward so much am concerned about interfering with the point finding a place to sink into. But I am going to give it a try to see if it can improve my hookup ratio.
