    My handmade skirt head

    I been collect seashell quite a long time, and now in to trolling. I use some seashell make trolling skirthead.


    use home made lathe


    fitting.


    mother of pearl and black pearl.


    fresh watar pearl clam,and other shell use.


    use terebra maculata

    after this photo I deside use floss treditional skirt tie.
    so I did some more reduce waist.

    how do you shape the shell, i assume you epoxy it to the head that is turned on the lathe then shape the shell by some means.

    Are you going to pour resin over the shell to encapsulate then shape again?

    canyongear, you are well trace my work.
    row shell are curved shape, and get same curve 8 or 10 layer pannel. and join together use marine epoxy tie rubber band until marine epoxy get hard. (I use preform head, and color epoxy depend shell color)

    second step is make base use lathe. (it is first picture)
    and space filled with resin.

    do you coat head with epoxy to protect the shell and nose seams?

    how are you finishing nose (front face) more shell or the preform head is bare.?
