    Mozambique Africa?

    Anyone ever fish there?

I am going to be spending some time in S. Africa next Sept/Oct. Heard the fishing is amazing in Mozambique around that time.

If anyone has any experiance/advice/opinions I would love to hear it!!

    Thanks,

    Rhinoke

Duarte (MarlinMoz) is also from Mozambique. He fishes mostly out of bazaruto and up north though.

What part of Mozambique are you going to? September/October 2008 was very hot in Maputo but im sure you not going after the fish we chase.

What are you after? Bazaruto is worth going to, but might be better in October/November/December

Anyway Pm MarlinMoz on here, he can tell you the good stuff about north Moz

We haven't decided exactly where we are going in Mozambique just yet. I did a lot of Internet searches and didn't find 2 much info so I figured this would be the best place to dig up some info!!!!

I will def. reach out and contact Marlinmoz....thank you very much babalaza!!!!

My goal is to swin with a great white and the whales off of Cape Town and try and C&R a black or a blue!!!.........We shall see!!!!!!

contact Eric Stewart at the Hookup in Orleans, mass.

he's partners on an outfit which runs a concession on one of the islands off the coast - his stories are amazing.

    He goes by "stew" here.

if you are going to be in the northern part , let me know . because i captained a few boats up there amongst the different islands . there are about 28 islands between pemba and the tanzanian border . and the fishing is good , cause there is not too many boats that operate that that area . google "st lazarus banks " . have fished there and fishing can be red hot . you will have a good time there .

    Hi Rhinoke,

As babalaza mentioned I fish Bazaruto during the peak of the Marlin season from September to mid December. Normally the big fish start arriving in mid to late September, but the fact is that hardly any boats are targeting Marlin earlier than that as September normally offers a great sailfish run as well. September can be a pretty windy month as well. October and November are normally your best Marlin fishing months of Bazaruto and we always run our Invitational Tournament during the second half of October.
I have fished the area for the last eight consecutive years and run a 31ft walkaround powered by twin 150h.p outboards out of Indigo Bay Island Resort...if you want any further assistance in the area or Mozambique you can contact me on dudas7mares@yahoo.com.br

If you want to have a look, I have posted some pictures on the melton thread on the last Marlin season at Baz...

    Cheers,
    Duarte
