    Morehead Giants

My boat is broken down. I am replacing motors and wont be up for a while. I need a ride down in Morehead fishing giants. Anyone need a mate? I am very experienced with the fishery down there and if anyone could use the help, I sure would appreciate the work. I have a captains license, a drug card, and alot of gear and tackle. You can reach me through private mesaage on the board here or call my cell phone @ 757-749-6008. Thanks guys, Capt. Jake Hiles.

    Thumbs up

I have gotten a few emails this fall regarding people to work this fall.
I will pass this link along to them man. Hope the motor rebuild goes well for you!

    Good to see you around.

    Thanks John,
I appreciate it. I blew one motor and could have gone for a rebuild, but I opted to take the expensive road and upgrade. I had a pair of 3208ta 375 hp cats. They only had 3000 orginial hours on no rebuilds, but I blew one. I found a pair of cummins 6cta 8.3L 480e's with 20 original hours on them so I swiped them up while the getting was good. Hopefully, I will be back in the water in two weeks or so, but I am afraid the bite will be in full swing by then and with the amount of money I have spent, I could sure use the work. How's life up in Jersey?

Sorry to hear about the bad luck with the cats. But after the pain of the cash bleed-out, having new power should make for some good times ahead. What type of speed are you expecting with the higher hp? Hope you get a ride for the giants, if so see ya down there.

I am looking at a 4-6 kt gain in cruise and a 6-10 kt gain in top end depending how I prop her. That would put my cruise at 26-28 and my top end at 34 to 38kts. My consumption with these motors will stay exactly the same as the cats at the higher cruise and if I cruise her at 23 kts. instead of 26-28, I am told that I can expect to burn about 15% less fuel at that speed than I was with the cats. That puts me between 90 and 100 gallons per day on a day tuna fishing out of OI. Not bad for weighing 33,000# and being 42' long.

Jake, if I could also have you put something on that list (and I'm sure Bill will agree)... could you replace the fighting chair coolers with a footrest??
