Some love to feed 'em...
Some love to fool 'em...
Me, I'm a fooler. A real turn on for me. And for the record, I consider natural pitch baits part of the "fooler" game.
I guess that makes me sort of a "cross-fooler", eh?
Oh well!

definatley on the troll is more impressive.
First off I would rather go out and catch 57 Whites instead of 57 sails, and both are impressive catches. I have fished both places and in my opinion from the cockpit perspective trolling is alot easier than live baiting.

There may well be another factor ot mentioned- anyone who has caught, penned, and fed enough goggle eye (assuming that was the bait) has put a heck of a lot of prep into the game.
Yet the perfect dead bait dredge begins months in advance of dropping it over the side.
Top notch crews, prep, right place right time, and luck- who cares I wish I were at either feeding frenzy!!
Franky,
What little tiny species were making up those bait balls last Sept, anyway? Or was it multiple? We tried croakers, spot, bull minnows, etc and whitey was just plain not interested.....must have been our outboards.....oh wait, I even killed the engines on approach!
