Had the same charter for today as I did yesterday with all of the hot tuna action, ............when I picked him up at the dock he was still one whooped puppy. He asked about other options...........well long story short, we went bottom fishing. Started off working ledges in the 100 depth range, plenty of marks just too much current, worked backed inshore to around 75-80 ft. No current and marks coming off the bottom 20 and 30 ft.!! Had him drop down one time on the drift, double header 3 lb. black bass and 2 lb. trigger fish. Checked out the plot line on the GPS to get my drift right, pulled back up past the mark, set anchor, came tight right on top of the stack............................Four hours later we came in, caught 4 keeper grouper, 80-100 bass, a dozen triggers, few grunts, few b-liners and a variety of small and large sharks, like the 8 ft. sandtiger that he set the hook on, hooking the shark right in the underside of the tail. That was pretty. Anyway real good fishing. This spring looks real promissing for both the inshore and offshore, just need a little coop. from the weather. Thanks, good fishing. Capt. Brian.
It's a shame the current was so bad on the ledge, I would have loved to see a bottom report from there. On the other hand, after the Tuna trip the day before, you may have put a serious hurting on your sport (client) had you been able to fish out a ways. Thanks for the report.
GREAT REPORT DUDE...................I ONLY WISH I HAD BEEN THERE WITH YA
MOTHER NATURE HAS TAKEN THE LAST 7 REPORTS AWAY FROM THE EXTREME MEASURES CREW..................WE DON'T MIND THE SLOP....BUT 40 KNOTS IS A BIT ON THE SLIGHTY SIDE
