300 boats?????????? You sure there are that many in this tourny????????? How much prize money???????? Last time I checked there was not a big enough pot to make spending the money to fish the Oak Bluffs Monster Shark... Just maybe a chance at being on Spike TV????
Last year's Star Island Shark Tourny had $1,000,000 in prize money. The top boat won $460,000... Oak Bluffs cost more and a fraction of the money awarded..... Just my 2 cents.... |

300?
Last year i believe they were just shy of 260 on the day of the capt meeting (thursday)... Some guys hold off until that thursday to see what the weathers going to do, last year i can't imagine many more signed up after the predicted forecast... if anything the number of actual participants prob dropped as it was quite the adventure getting south of the vineyard on Friday and i dont think those who went east off chatham had it much better.

Thanks Guys..
Wow,
Quite the response, thanks for all the PM and offers to put together a team and fish the OB monster shark. Looks like we have something in the works that is going to work very well for us. Green Machine: Thank You and good luck in the tournament, what boat do you fish the tournament in? For all the individual guys who are looking to jump on a team you may want to post up your interest on the New England thread or here on big game fishing as you may find a good boat to jump on. You could also contact Steven James the tournament Director as he may know some boats looking for crew bostonbiggame@hotmail.com Thanks Again JW |

I fish on the 31' Ocean Master "American Mustang" - I met you briefly at your booth at the Captain's Meeting last year. I think we were one of the smallest boats that made it out on day 1 last year! We got some funny comments from the larger boats that saw us out there. The green water we took over the bow was somewhat less funny, though. Hoping for a little bit better weather this year... how about no more 8-10' that would be nice. Good luck with whatever team you join and hope to see you again this year. John |

NJ/Boston Team ;)
OK,
This should be good, we have put together a NJ guy and a Boston guy for this years Monster Shark! I'm still not over the Pat's beat up by the Giants so I'm sure I will have to hear all about for the entire week, shit! Joe Vezzosi and his boat "Undisputed" have teamed up with us to go for it in this years tournament fishing his new 33" Contender. Hey Joe, Any photos of the new ride? Who else is planning on fishing this years tournament? Cheers, JW |
