We left the dock at 5

o with threashers and a possible bluefin in mind. Calm seas and tee shirt weather graced us as we set up on our first drift at the ledge. The drift had us going from the pit straight up the edge with 56 degree water and no bites to be found exept one giant bluefish. We then picked up and ran to the Lillian. There was 58 degree water there and more life. No shark bites, and after two picture perfect drifts our drift died and the sea became a lake. We stopped at the rattlesnake on the ride home for a quick sea bass smackdown, and as I lamented the slow offshore action I found our culprit. Our law enforcement buddy didn't pay attension to the ingredients of his trail mix(chock full of dried monkey fruit), and inadvertantly sabitoged our trip. Just as I thought he was learning the Offshore thing he makes the cardinal sin. Oh well, anytime I can wear a tee shirt out there in Nov. it's a great trip. .
