    Momoi

Momoi Diamond 80lb (any color) will normally break at 122lbs.
I have never heard of color causing the line to break at any less than the clear.
Most likely you just got a bad/old/sun-damaged/brittle spool? The retailer should replace it for you.
Most major line manufactures will produce and sell their lines above the breaking strength listed on the spools, to make up for poor knot tying, abrasion, wear and tear, etc.

He then tested the line with his scale and it broke at 60lbs. He then tested the same type of line in clear and it broke at 90lbs. I have never heard of this before and was wondering if anybody else has had this happen. Why would they say it is 80lbs if it breaks at considerably less??
Sure sounds like the retailer is blowing smoke up his azz too avoid replacing the spool. He needs to take it back and be a bit more convincing

check line dia. sometimes things get mislabled at the factory color makes absolutly no difference. I've tested and sold line for almost 20 years now I suspect wrong lable. Most lines will break at or above rated strength.

Post to answser your question bigones>

The diameter of the line is what is used as A guide line to manufacturing!Momoi diamond is just leaps and bounds ahead of the game.I dont know there trick to doing this but you can see in in the cost of there lines compared to the competion. But it is well worth every penny!

I use momoi diamond and sufix both. Both over test by a lot. IGFA or tourament line will not exceed stated braking strength. Other regular line wont break under. Line testing done properly is tricky. If I test one of my own I use the same knot I will be connecting with (almost always uni) at the scale end...

I've had that happen only with Berkley Big game, lost some big eyes, tested my line and it tested below what it was supposed to. It was Hi-Vis yellow, that stuff is long gone, I only use momoi now as a topshot over hollowcore. Both momoi smoked blue and hi vis test over rated unless it is IGFA line. If it tests under rated it is junk. I've heard good things about the suffix and 2 of my new reels have it as topshot so I will see how that turns out.
