    Momoi Diamond question

Does anyone use the Momoi Diamond Hi Vis Yellow line and if the line breaks at 200% of stated line test can you instead of putting 80lb line on a 50 class reel go to say 60lb and get more line on the reel?

    Thanks!

Sure you could, but it depends on what your using it for.

Will 60 lb work for what your fishing for? 60 lb test main line can catch most stuff out there depending on your drag setting and your angler.

    Why not go braid?

Well I'm new to offshore and it would be for trolling. For jigging/chunking I'll be using the braid. So being "new" go with a higher lb test? Two of the 30 class reels I purchased the store put 50lb test line on. I purchase some additional reels with no line and the Momoi Diamond was recommended. In look to purchase line I then had the question if it was better to go heavier or lighter?

    Thanks for the help.

I would just stick with 50 lb diamond line IMO if your other reels already have that on them.

I think is right in your case. the 50# breaks at 83 and the 60 at 92. I would rather have the extra line then extra strength. I use the 5o# on my tld50's and if something breaks its usually the leader.

I have the hi-vis, It's great to be able to be able see the lines in the sun. I use it as top shot. I have jigged with it to. Great overall line. Plus depending on what reels you have it can accent them nicely. O yeah it's 50 lb. good luck with what ever you choose.

The question no one has asked..............what line test do you actually want on the reel? Find the Momoi that breaks at or above that and roll with it.

I know what Momoi (and a couple others) are doing by giving line size then saying it breaks WAY over. But I wish they'd rate the pound test and just list what diameter it is instead of the other way around.

I have TLD 50 and put 50# momoi diamond on them. Have the drag set at 17# in full. If you plan on doing any chunking you may want to go with clear mono.
