After a stressfull thursday of wondering if we would be fishing our boat or a backup boat on friday we were able to get the boat up and running at 3:00AM friday morning.
We cleared Cape May inlet at 4:30 AM and headed for 500 fathoms of the Spencer. We got the lines in at 8:30 and started to pound the area out. At 10:00 we raised 3 whites and ended up catching 1 of them but had to release it since it was short. We also had 1 of the whites that looked like it could have been a money fish hang himself on a 16 inch squid on an 80 but pulled the hook after about 10 seconds. Over the next couple hours we raised 3 singles and caught 1. Around 1:30 we had an est 300 LB Blue pile on a Mac/Island Pro combo but he pulled of after about 20 secondsand that was our last bite of the day.
Again, I want to thank everyone who tried to help us find a replacement boat for thursday and to everyone who offered us thier boats to use on friday.
