MHC offshore wide open!

The offshore fishing here of Morehead city is just about as good as it gets. The gaffer dolphin fishing is as hot as I have seen it in years! Gaffers from 15 to 40 lbs are in large numbers from 2 miles inshore of the 14 Bouy all the way out to the Big Rock with the biggest shots of fish a few miles offshore of the 14 Bouy to the 90 Ft. Drop. There are good numbers of wahoo mixed in and a few yellowfins thrown in as well. The blue marlin fishing is heating up as well. There were plenty of blue ones seen and caught yesterday and the majority of the blues were 300 lbs and larger according to the anglers that I talked with last night. Looks like everything is starting to fall in place for the upcoming Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament. The winds have finally cooperated for the last few days and I can only hope that is is a pattern we will be getting into instead of just a tiny window of calm.

Sounds good Joe. Sorry i didn't stop by for bait yesterday, we had more engine issues and decided not to head down. Maybe we will get them fixed and get down there soon.

Youre right, Joe. It is hot as a firecracker out there! We didnt see them as close as the 14 but the 90 was going off last weekend. I need to get in there and get some of your dolphin weenies so not to waste all the Ballyhoo!
