Memorial Day Shark Report. A Special Milestone

Well we caught the Targeted Species Sharks just not the one's for the Grill.

By monday morning the crew had changed for Joe Jamisons birthday Shark Trip.
    It's become a yearly trip
Fog, Decisions, Chaos, Victory and Incredible Shark Fishing

So we roll into the Wawa in Seaville to meet up with the crew.
Jerry String owner of the Mucho Clams and Joe were there but Joe's brother backed out, So we are one short or so i thought. Tyler Jerrys 9yr old son would be rounding out the crew today. We would find out soon enough if he was up to the tasks at hand.

We checked the sat shots and reports. Water was still showin high 50's with some 60's from the day before. The reports from the day before had some makos weighed in out of OC Md and one big thresher from down South Masseys into the fingers. A look at the water and based on my previous trips over the year we decided to run to the Manhattan area whicgh is just above Masseys.

The Run out was very nice. Jerrys 29 everglades is a very nice riding boat. Had a little bit of a roll out of the south so we ran head on into no problem, was supposed to pick up later so it would be on our can for the return trip.

Stopped down by the Manhattan, to check our drift and see if the wind and or tide would push us into the triple wrecks. The drift actuall was a bit different than originally thought but was pushing us right up the 20 line covering some excellent bottom.
Two hours into the drift we had 2 cans of chum out one mac one bunker and had a laddle of chunks being dispersed every so often.
Way back rod was a whole mack with an orange skirt bait set 65 to 75ft down from the float
second one in squid and falsie filet, 55ft from float
    3rd one in mac 35ft
    4th one bluefish
bottom rod right off the stern was a bunker and squid cranked off the bottom.

Drift was good baits layed in the slick, the 4th bait from the boats float started to bounce a tad bit hmm start to reel it in and we come tight look out to where the bait was and theres a shark rolling on the surface wrapped up in the leader.

Try to get Tyler into the belt so he can fight his first shark, than nothing the shark had rolled into the leader an we broke him off. I pick up the far rod to check the bait, ooooo what do wee got here weight wind in the slack hit hit hit fishon Tyler get the belt little man hes all yours

    Thumbs up Good to see...

both YOU and Tyler got some fishing in. Congrat's to Tyler on his first shark. From the looks of the pictures, this will not be his last, that young man has all the makings of a great fisherman.

More Pics, The only pictures I missed were of the birthday boy, shark wrangling. The shark on one end of the leader and him on the other end with no rod attached. Joe dropped a bait on his nose as he came in to check out the chum bucket. The shark broke the leader before I could shoot pics
