You'll notice that this is the recreational Angling category only.

If "we the people" actually reported their BFT maybe we wouldnt be in this situation.Last year the recreational sector reported 5 trophy fish for the entire east coast not to mention the recreatonal sector went over its quota by 305 metric tons! Do yourselves a favor and report your BFT catches

1.7mt = what 10 fish?? We report every fish...did us alot of good

Crazy thinking going on over there. Huge economic loss for coastal areas. Makes as much sense as the fluke laws. 18" for Rec and 14" for comms.

All Rec fishing for tuna will be closed come August. Just plain stupid.

the commercial sure as hell did NOT go over their quota, but the REC's DID go over & not by any small amount.

Maybe the rec's should be put on the same reporting system as the commercial fisherman if they (as it's been made obvious) can NOT BE TRUSTED to accurately report their catch... if they had, last seasons overage would not now be shutting down this season's rec fishing. "we the people" are now having to shoulder the consequences of their irresponsible actions.....

Im sorry but only reporting 5 trophy fish for the entire east coast is a Joke and a slap in the face to NMFS and their trophy tag program. Now we are paying for others being ignorant to the HMS reporting program
