I see pics and I have seen some in person, boats that come in with Dolphin flags, Tuna flags, Wahoo flags flying..Just wondering, under what circumstances would you fly a meat-fish flag? Do you guys ever fly them?

i never fly them....and generally make fun of people who do. But thats just me.
I fly them. My crew really enjoys it and I like that they feel proud of the day's catch. Feel free to make fun, I don't really care what other people think.![]()

I personally will not fly meat fish flags. If I was a charter boat, it may be a different story b/c flags flying at the dock can sell trips - I know from experience when I used to be a mate.
One of the reasons I do not fly them on my non-chater boat is due to the DNR. When Maryland's DNR is hot and heavy checking boats for tuna when coming through the inlet in OC, I personally think flying the flags just draws attention - just my opinion.
In a nutshell, it's a free world - fly them or don't fly them - it's up to you!
Why would you post this question? Why didn't you just write "it's stupid to fly meat flags" or are you to much of a pussy cat to do that. A lot of guys up north do it which you are obviously seeing in pictures form the tournaments. Next time man up and just state your feelings, don't hide behind a question.
I'm with you Eric. The neighbors and the family like to see them when we come in. I'm not ashamed. The only guys I laugh at are the guys who fly more than 1 dolphin flagI remember one of our last trips last year where we brought home like 60 dolphin (it was a slow year and I was being greedy). That would have been hilarious

Charter boats go for it. If it sells a trip GREAT. Private boats leave them rags in the bag!!!
