BINGO - I thought flags were there to represent the fish you caught that were'nt layin on the dock...Whats the point of flyin' a dolphin flag when he's layin on the dock right behind the boat????

I don't remember seeing any pics of the old-timers flyin' Marlin flags back when they killed 'em all.

for a tournament, i sorta understand it. don't like it, but..you either got it in the pit or you don't.

the last time we released a blue in a tournament, all we had was a bluefin tuna flag so we drew a bill on it with a black sharpie and elongated the body and added a fin..it drew a few chuckles to say the least..

flags to me are like the guy with the rod in his mouth during a picture..

nothing wrong with em'..just not our style..

I have flown flags since 1983, and dad did it before that, why change now.

my best customer likes flags- kids like flags, most charters like flags.

I do beleive in the the when in Rome principle however- I don't fly meat flags in MHC or when I was in FL. In MD I fly for everything

In MX only for slams, and in Venezuela I only flew for slams.

Only one flag as been one my rigger and that is the old red white and blue. Before I purchased my boat I fished with people that had a flag for every fish and raised it so people on the rocks had something to talk about with the kids as the boats came back in. I have seen people do it to show off the catch at the docks where they keep the boat. I made up my mind not to fly them because I have been stopped MANY times fishing with other people by DNR asking to see the catch.

I just dont like to show off and I tow my boat home so why stop at the inlet, raise the flags and ride to the dock just to take it down and trailer the boat.
