Meat-Fish Flags?

Unfortunately....there are alot of unwritten rules that apply to the sportfishing world. Rules that were obviously enacted by Professionals who expect others to do as they do or be made an example of. Ill continue to fly my thongs, bras and underwear hoping to get a smile from all who look at them.

I've been the hard core charter or private boat operator for 30 plus... I'm no tweener... I didn't have time for this internet crap but when I got sober I found it an alternative way to spend the time I used to piss away in the bars...
That being said, what I said before still applies. Comming aboard a boat without permission is a qucik way to get hurt. Know em or not has absolutely nothing to do with it. I've had shit stolen probably more by "friends" than perfect strangers... I've found my stolen stuff a lot of the times I have been clipped and come to find out it was a "friend" or a trusted dock worker or some other aquaintence that swiped it. The word friend no longer applies when they cross that simple line... "Don't touch my stuff without permission."

I know its a regional thing as to how long to leave flags up or not. Some places its til sundown. Some its til noon the next day. For some its until the boat next leaves the dock. That boy whos hand got flattened was trying to impose "His tradition" where "another tradition" was in place. I pointed out early in this thread that I'm sow to run flags, if I do they're the small triangle ones, and they don't stay up long. Again thats me and again persons friend or otherwise boarding a bot or touching stuff that doesn't belong to them are asking for serious trouble.
Its not about being trigger happy. Its about self preservation. Hesitation with the wrong univited intruder can get you killed just as easy.

Where can I get a SKUNK flag......seems thats all ive caught lately. New RULE, you get skunked, its gotta fly until you redeem yourself!

Ace Im rather partial to the bra and thong flags myself. If we fly those are we allowed to keep them up till claimed by the owner? Or do they have to come down in 24 hours to?

No you're missing the point. He said it was some schmuck and the schmucks neighbor. Pretty apparent it was someone he didnt know. I didnt say I would shoot you but if I dont know you and I find you on my boat you will get your ass beat severely and they will probably find you hanging upside from the scales, screaming get me down in the morning. You wanna mess with your buds by all means, bust their balls thats what friends are for. But have the respect for other peoples property if you dont know them leave their shit alone, regardless of how dorky their boat looks with their flags flying maybe their 5 year old likes seeing the flags. Its obvious some peoples parents did a piss poor job of raising their kids. Number one rule, if its not yours keep your fucking hands off it.

I think its totally ridiculas how a simple post turns into this, seems it's happening more and more here. Tough world were living in. This site is one place I came to share a common interest with my fellow fishermen and make some friends. I don't allow my boys to log on anymore because of this bull****. Joking around is fine and I'm all for protecting my property. I was a cop for 18 years for crying out loud, but some of this threating crap is borderline criminal.

Couldn't agree more, it is happening not only here, but all the message boards. Its pathetic because there is so much good information out there for free from good people until every post turns into a argument. So many people I am sure have just stopped contributing or stopped logging on all together, and we all lose. We need to ban the keyboard cowboys who get on here and pick these fights.

Not sure what the "Flag Police" would say about that. But then we are expected to know the answer to that too.
