Maui 'At-Sea' Action shots + fish report

    Aloha Folks!!!

Ono Noah here checking in with everyone here at SFC, and hoping that life is treating you well!

My busy schedule is seemingly endless, yet I just so happened to find this small time slot to fill you guys in with the update of the catch here in Lahaina for the past few days. It's been real fun, I must admit that living in paradise is truly a blessing.

An anniversary is always something special, Dan and Jane from Colorado -- enjoying this special trip with a nice Mahi.

Later in the days, Steve from Maui, took the boys out on a bachelor party sportfishing trip, no ladies, but plenty of Mahis!!!

Good job fellas, and good luck Steve!!!

Jared and Jessica from Billings, Montana were here on their honeymoon, and they enjoyed a wonderful day out on the peaceful Pacific and managed to pull up a few nice bulls and Tag and Release an estimated 200 lb. Pacific Blue Marlin. Your requests for some 'At-Sea' action shots have been taken into consideration... because what I see... you see... guarantee!!!

Dave from California had 'some serious big gaming' out there, in the distance is the island of Moloka'i. Dave is turning the handle as Jared looks on.

Didn't take long to get a few nice Mahi's in the sack!

Yukka prepping the iced down fish bags, as an exceptionally happy Domingo Pier from Houston, Texas looks on in satisfaction.

The flurry happened so fast, it was literally non-stop for what seemed like hours. We had just used up the live bait (opelu) and we were setting the artifical jet squid lures and began our troll.

The Mahis were being placed into the iced down fish bags and then the rubber band snapped on the long corner. Line began screaming out as hearts started pumping and adrenaline started flowing. This was the first time out fishing in Hawaii for these folks, it was noticeably exciting for them! There was a huge splash about 200 yards out, and we caught our first glimpse of her. She was angry to say the least, flipping and leaping out of the water, she was tail walking like nobodys' business. Jared took over and began to turn the handle. This blue wasn't coming in without a fight, she dove deep and took out a few more yards of line! Basically at a stalemate, Jared was wondering how long he had been battling this fish. It was about 35 minutes into the fight when we got our first good look at her.

Yukka doing the deed as he leans over to grab the leader.

Yukka was estimating it around 175 lb. He did good as he swam the fish alongside the boat for a few minutes to make sure that she was still swimming. Nice Tag and Release of this beautiful fish!

Jared was 'super stoked' at his catch, and his new bride was just as ecstatic! Good job on your Tag and Release Jared, it was a pleasure to meet you folks!!!

Yesterday, Captain Mark 'Beefy' had a great day out on the water. Cynthia and Aron from Minnesota 'enjoyed the fruits of the sea!' And said that 'Beefy' was 'an excellent captain!'

'Beefy' agreed with that assessment, and he actually called his girlfriend, Ashley to come down and verify that statement. She too agreed that he is a great captain, 'Beefy' and Ashley, in all their glory. Can you decipher who is who?

Although we may find ourselves straying from the path now and again, it is important to focus on the finer things in life. Fishing, family, and fun put it all into perspective for me. Thank you for the opportunity to express myself and post my reports here. I truly appreciate all the positive feedback.

    Mahalo,

    -Ono Noah
