Maui, Hawaii -- The Action Continues!

    Maui, Hawaii
    September 9, 2008

    Aloha Folks!!!!

Ono Noah checking in here after a busy day out on the water. I hope you folks are having a wonderful day, and that life brings you everything you desire.

Let me start off by saying it has been a fantastic few days of fishing!!!

Yesterday we did our usual routine of making bait at midnight, got a load of Opelu (mullet), and proceeded to pick up our anglers at 3:00 A.M. We did our usual trot through the dark and reached the fishing grounds just in time to see a bunch of blue dots hanging out by the buoy.

The Mahi flurries have been biting as of late, and this day was no exception. First live bait dropped was attacked by two seperate Mahis, the bigger of the two managed to swallow the bait and we had her in the sack pretty quick. The next few hours were basically a blur. Literally. A blur of blue dots splashing, frollicking, and eating non-stop. By 5:52 A.M. we had 8 Mahis in the sack and another double bite instantly, insane action!!!

Brian Kranz and Jack Bence from Sauquz, California had their hands full and started taking over.

Jack was so confident in his abilities, he started landing them with his eyes closed!!!

Few more Mahis in the iced-down fish bags, and a few more live bait - rigged, dropped, and fed straight to the Mahis. They were swarming behind the boat!!!

Amanda Lenenberg from Sauqus, California got in on the action, she was all smiles during the flurry!

Another double bite hookup while Amanda was battling her bull!!! Debbie Kranz from Sauqus, California hopped in on the flurry!!!

All that fishing is hard work folks!!! Give Amanda a break, she's tired after landing 7 Mahis!!! She just did us a favor though... she dreamt us up a few more bulls to throw in the sack!!!

Kelli Bence from Sauqus, California was cheering on her husband Jack as he plucked them from the sea, one by one!!

Not to be outdone by her hubby, Kelli managed to pull up a beautiful Mahi as well!!! You can see the island of Lana'i in the background, just another beautiful day in paradise folks!!!

Yukka and Captain Steve 'Skillet' prepping the iced down fish bags and carefully placing the beautiful fish inside en route to the docks.

When we arrived back at Lahaina docks, we proceeded to dangle these precious pelagic prizes. Nice 50 lb. bull.

Kelli had a 'rockin good time' out there and she also stated - 'can't wait to come back!!!'

Captain 'Skillet' is sure good at carving up those bulls!!!

Amanda, checking the fish cutting process, she 'loved the freshness!'

Pictured from left: Kelli Bence, Jack Bence, Amanda Lenenberg, Brian Kranz, Debbie Kranz. Congratulations on your epic day out on the cobalt blue Pacific folks, it was truly a pleasure to meet you!!!

35 Mahi Mahi bit, 34 Mahi Mahi caught. Now this here is not a bad day of fishing here in the valley isle of Maui, Hawaii... home sweet home!!!

As busy as my schedule is, the joy and happiness that I receive from posting my reports is not only beneficial to me, but hopefully is equally pleasing to you folks as well. Thank you for the experience of offering me your time and positive feedback. It means the world to me.

Warmest Aloha and Mahalo from your friend,

    -Ono Noah

    Ono,
Are you sending the camera along with the charter party for the day so you can bring us these most excellent shots? Just wondering, because I know its tough for the crew to do their work and get some action shots?
    Thanks,
    Jim
