hey eeryone this summer if i can find a place to stay at i may try to get a job on a boat. I wanted to know how i could go about getting a job and if anyone would hire a 14 year old any advice is appriciated

are u trying to mate on an inshore boat or a full mate on an offshore boat?

try to find a job on a head boat, you will learn a lot and be able to do it fast!

im really looking for anything inshore offshore headboat anything

go around to different captains and see if you could maybe just watch the first couple times then once u get the hang of it maybe work a few days

You may want to talk to some captains about helping out with boat washing and odd jobs around the boat. I know some captains hire young kids to do these jobs and then they get to ride along on fishing days and learn the program. It is a good way to start and get a lot of experience and also make a little summer money.
