I called him. He told me he needs someone who knows how to fish and is passionate about fishing...He knew I couldn't fish a lick because I sell building materials. Guess that rules me out...

I have seen him put his rig and life on the line to rescue some "weekend warriors" that have gotten swamped.

YOU NEED TO READ... what I said...it isn't about "Rick"... It is about those posting ads regarding life-changing events in someone's life...and making a reference to the person as being a "legend", again it is the posters OPINION as to such...and some of you others who think he is great, terrific, the best of the best...good. IN MY OPINION, someone who needs to post "help wanted" ads in the manner this one is written falls short of being a legend. THAT IS MY OPINION...GET IT? (now, go back and read the last sentence again).

And what's with "walk down the dock and tell him what you think...I promise you it will be legendary what happens next"...WOW...so I guess now The Legend is also a world-class fighter as well??? man...now I am terrified...trembling as I type this... That's a real grown-up comment there...sounds like you might be the PR firm who wrote his help wanted ad.

YOU HAVE YOUR OPINIONS...I HAVE MINE...IN MY OPINION "LEGENDS" are a little taller in life than someone you describe in your response and the way they go about developing future mates & Captains....again MY OPINION. So if you are going to post, in a PUBLIC FORUM, an OPINION on a LIFE CHANGING event...be prepared to add something when someone who is netural asks what's so legendary...Not as an attack on "Rick"...but as a challenge to the poster who, IN HIS OPINION, thinks this is a life changing job. There are other's outside your little community reading these opportunities and would like to hear what makes the man so legendary. Due to my question, some of these answers are coming out...and the real stories that someone would want to know before taking such a "life-changing" are being revealed.

It is awesome that the mere mention of Capt. Ricky brings to life a 2 page thread and he is not even part of it

I think you have to know or know of him to enjoy the ad and for most on this board to know him would be to like him because he is a great captain and fisherman on all levels and each here would respect that. Opinions are...well.... you know. Everybody have a great evening and catch a pile of fish this weekend and if you don't and want to learn how to.......Call the help wanted ad above for a job or charter

That would be his loss then, wouldn't it Geoff?
I 'll bet the fishes are breathing a sigh of relief right now.
No way you should ever go pro man.

GALAZIO, My last 2 cents on this. If I've got a boat for sale and don't tell anyone about it it will take a long time to sell it...if I put out an add and tell you everything right and wrong with it I will get only the people looking at it that really want it. I look at Ricks add like that. I understand what you are saying but that is how I look at this.
