Cockpit Monkey In Training
With all due respect to MD and NJ (I grew up fishing Manasquan), pack up the car and go to Oregon Inlet or Hatteras. If you have to be back at school in late August or need to make some money right away, go to Hatteras. You are more likely to find work quickly there. If you are not going back to school in the fall and have enough in your pocket to support yourself for awhile then you could give Oregon inlet a go.
Bring a tent to stay in at the NPS campground at OI or Frisco until you find a room to rent.
The resume is nice, but nothing beats being on the dock when someone gets canned or quits.
Walk the docks, introduce your self to every Capt., mate, dockhand etc. Be on the porch every single morning. Either Hatteras Harbor Marina or the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center. Every morning.
