    Marlin Eats Mahi

Fished out of Jupiter Inlet yesterday with my buddy Dave. Found some nice weed patches in 800' and pitched out some live bait. All of the sudden some p-nuts erupted from under a weed patch jumping in every direction. Next thing I see is a huge explosion just behind one airborne mahi. As he hit the water we saw a blue one about 300lbs crush another mahi in mid air. My jaw hit the floor and I just stared in awe. Unfortunately the biggest gear onboard was a TLD15 with 30lb mono. No chance to get that one in if we hooked up. We did catch a p-nut from under that patch with some old bill rash up from his tail. Looks like that school had been attacked before, must be tough to be a fish. Caught plenty of schoolies (around 30 or so, kept only 8) to about 8lbs and a cow that weighed 22lbs. Made it back in the inlet caught a snook on the way by the jetty on the last couple of baits. Put the boat on the trailer at dark, what a fun day. Sorry no pics, digital is still broken.
