Marlin Catching sucks

But we did see a few. Made it out past the washington and had lines set by 8:00am. Corey found a great pocket of water. Their was a sulpher line inshore and a weedline offshore and a pocket of clean bluewater smack in the middle. 9:00 I am watching the spread and I feel that my eyes are playing tricks. I see some powder blue in the water. I blink and it is gone. For a second I thought I saw a billfish. Next thing I know Corey starts yelling he'sin the middle of the spread. Damn I knew it was him. He was pretty lazy. He went to 3 different baits and made a half swipe at mine and then he was gone.
10:00 or so all hell breaks lose. not 100 yards from our first bite comes a scream on the right teaser. This fish is lit up like a christmas tree. Another angler pitches a bait to em and I Tell corey to get the teaser away from the fish. HE SAID he couldn't and I look back and he is hooked up to another one on the bridge rod - fish is putttin on a show. Well the other fish is having a ball with out squid chain. I think he ate the bally, 3 of 5 of the squids and picking his gums with the swivel. for a second I thought I saw a pink squid coming out his AS*$. Get the picture he was their for quite a while. look back in the spread and Corey is still hooked up and a third fish comes in the middle of the spread takes a look and leaves. The teaser fish had enough pastic and bally for the day so he left and 15 seconds later POP. Corey's fish is gone.
11:30 - We were playing around with Senior Cigar's secret bait. I rigged a high dollar cigar tube like a ceder plug and had it out their for sh&#ts and giggles. Had it out for a few minutes and Senior Cigar himself decides to bring it in for some slight modifications - A white piles on the short rigger right next to Senior. Fish is locked and and doing the windshield wiper behind the boat - Finally a solid hookup. Fish just stays in one spot swapping a sway and then high tails it out of town. We clear everything and get ready for the backdown - Fish jumps once more and gone. That was it folks - 0-5 between 9:00 and 11:30am. We stayed in that pocket all day. We'll be back out their tomorrow.
