I think I will just keep learning and reading.....

I will even give a little trick of mine....

I always keep a 20-30 inch LIVE EEL in a bucket for a pitch bait while Mako fishing if you get the "window shopper" that wont eat throw him the LIVE EEL and he will chew, the only thing I find is that you have to wait and really make sure he has it down... The first few times I "skinned" the EEL by rippin out of his teeth... This does no apply when he just blows up on it ( witch usally happens )...

Also for a Dead stick bait... Take a BIG Swordfish squid and hollow it out and remove the head.... Sew the head of the eel to the bottom of the mantel of the squid. Then shove the 14-20 inch LIVE EEL in the mantel and hook the squid and eel through the top of the mantel and the lips of the eel... When this bait is sitting out there the Squid is wiggling around like mad and is very deadly...... I usally fish this as my deep bait around 100-120 ft... Many a Thresher and Mako has had this for its last supper with me....

I hope this helps someone catch a Slob!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Waterman, its not the whoopin of them thats the hard part. Our very own Anngler or Tims daughter Alexa have showed us that little girls can do the whippin just fine.
Keepin em out of the wheels, leadering and pokin em is a touch different. Thinking like and being a mako is the core of the game... Nothing hard... a combo of all things...

That I'm gonna have to try. Though it seems it might be a little difficult to get the eel to stay still for it.
