Fished the past 2 days out of Los Suenos. Yesterday all the dolphin we wanted, no billfish. Today, 2 dolphin, saw 1 sail but couldn't get him to bite.
Not sure where to go? We ran about 30 miles out today (about 160 heading). Fished back to the west and offshore into deeper water. Nothing but dead water.
If anybody knows where the billfish bite has been the past few days, I'd like to know. Thanks
Thanks Tunabite. I'm fishing on the "Mint Condition" with Mark. We ran that way on Saturday and saw some fish being caught around us, but we didn't see any. We may see you down that way today.
I was tgere a couple of weeks ago and got sails straight off of los suenos, on a drop off called "the corner" we caught 3 sails in two hours, it was our last spot of the day.
Most of the boats that fished our tournament last week were running 50 miles or so from LS to find the billfish. We fished on Sunday 12/6 out about 35 miles, covered up by the big dorados, couple sail bites and raised a blue that wouldn't switch off the teaser. Not stellar but not bad either. Could'a sunk the boat with 25-pound gaffers...
Hey Tunabite. Thanks for the heads up. I think I saw you out there today. I was in a 26' center console called the "Mint Condition".
Took your advice and headed that way today. Started out east of where you were but fished to the west and got in with a bunch of boats around a pod of spinner dolphins. Went 2 for 2 on the sails. I'll post some pics when I get back to the states. Thanks again.
