So funny that there are still "secret spots " to some people and they catch so many more fish than everyone else... Oh My... Deep people have been fishing in whale harbour way before you have and Smugglers cove area .. well we actually take a right when we get to the inside when we go home when we fish down there. Also that looks like a sail to me.. oh and if I need to bang my gong ..we did catch a blue marlin off fowey some years ago on the capt grunt so should I get a gold star??? (by the way I give credit where it is due Victor caught the fish I just drove the boat...) seems that your buddy's on here delete some posts for you ... thats ok it will turn around some times and bite them in the butt.. and if you want some scorpions well there are plenty all over the keys. I also have to ask was that sailfish gaffed? it sure looks like a gaff shot in the pic... Oh by the way this last weekend my wife caught more sailfish than you guys did ... and she was smiling more with the 3 big muttons for dinner and she caught them on 15 lb ande clear and 30 lb leaders with mutu circles just in case thats a world record event... So funny how this site works sometimes.. fishing is fun and your not always the hottest lil sh&t on the rip.. anyway thats what my grandpa taught me ..

Could well be a sail... Thats why I titled it you make the call... I fished out of Whale Harbor from 79 to 85... Probably around 1200 days maybe 900 billfish... Never caught a blue on the edge before... Caught some out deep...
Never caught a sail though that didn't slow down, dig or go chocolate color for over two hours either. We did catch a sail in the tourney that went two hours but it was unmistakeably a sail...
No its not a gaff hole in that sail. Either a bill scar or more likely a cookie cutter bite which is not un common.
This is a fishing site and I reported what we caught... Never said in any of the threads that I was king shizzle or that we did anything better than average... I would have loved to go mutton fishing but we decided to use our lines in time not on the patches but out with the sails as it was a sail tournament. Whats your point?
If you got a report then put it up but get out of my face...

I learned 1 thing thing from that... again ... "your not always the hottest lil sh*t on the rip..!" ...you caught 900??? wow!!! I didn't ever even keep count on my blues whites or sails.. then again my wife makes me remember more stuff than just that. I do remember people though.. some are great to fish with and some I don't ever want to go to sea with at all. In this biz. called fishing some beat thier 'tom tom' all day long and when they post .."oh they only bite on the moon" or "on the darkside of the moon when you hook your bait from the left side of the nose" kinda stuff bothers the hell out of me.. I fish, I always have and i still love it..! this economy sucks and makes it a little harder but I am always looking at it like well the cup is still 51% full and someone is always still making 'rum and coke' ..so we will be okay..! when someone posts that they catch a billion fish though people look at the rest of us funny... with my days in Chub or the keys the hottest bite of the day may be the bait.. and then you get days of 5 cracks at blues and a fish box with plenty of meat to go home with. I have a friend in jamacia that goes everyday almost and he actually catches more blue marlin from his homemade canoe on a bait called long jaws then most sport boats will ever see. In your face...nope I am not but you have kinda ticked me off .. be carefull with scorpions they can get ya sometimes but I do not ever wish to see someone feed them to birds either.. I would 'accidentaly on purpose' bump ya off the dock for that kinda B.S. ...

I don't doubt for one minute that deep has been around and seen alot in his days as a capt but yes he does come off like he is the king! I also like in his fishing reports there is always some dramatic story of how the big one got away and thats what keeps me entertained,I have come to notice on deeps boat that the fish never just comes unbuttoned! its always a series of events that enable the fish to gain its freedom and i find it downright classic! Also i have come to enjoy the curse laden PM's that deepy has thrown my way these are also very enjoyable and entertaining to read. So please for the sake of entertainment and knowledge to the entire east coast fishing community do not change one bit! And who knows Paul with your writing skills and detailed catch reports you could become the Ernest Hemingway of your generation! (Have you ever thought about writing a book?) I would buy it.

Like I've mentioned in a couple of other threads, I don't know any of you on here and I don't care who, when, or why it started. Enough. This is a fishing site that I found while I've been over here and I really enjoy reading all the really great info MEN have to pass on and stories to share. Stop the bickering, grow up and get back to fishing.

I don't always agree with deep on everything but i do cherish his reports! I hope they keep coming. Do you think we could get a Deep C fan club going along with a place where he could do a weekly or daily blog maybe?Someone should have the admin add a forum for Capt paul himself.Please make this happen!

Maybe a TV show from the top secret world class destination known as Whale Harbor! I would tivo it every week so I could watch over and over as world records fall like a table full of dominos!

Caught a few fish over the summer and been splitting lots of wood trying to stay warm since. How come you aren't in Australia??
