Little Debbie Week in Review, with pix

Sorry for not posting all week, but I have been alittle busy fishing:

I had the Mike Lenet Charter out in the Beginning of the week for a Canyon day trip.

We started at 35 fathoms and within 30 minutes we had a 35lb YFT, worked the area hard but to no avail, continued on and found the weeds and popped a bunch of small dolphin.

The weeds played hell all day and I created a new bait I may try and market, I like to call it the

    " THE CHIA HOO "

But even though the weeds were thick we raised 3 White Marlin and had one on for 20 minutes but the hook pulled 50' from the boat, OH WELL
A big blue showed up and crashed our green spreader bar, but that was short lived.
    Alot of good action for the day trip, we would have liked to see better numbers but to Mike Lenet, just to have his son and grandson out was good enough;

Here they are back at the dock:

Seas were great, Fished the Wilmington, 75.6 degrees, scattered weed mixed in with carpet, tough to fish.

OUR Tuesday Charter, Dan Caldwell of Northfield, were scheduled for an overnighter, but the wind and sea Gods made it alittle bumpy and they decided to bag the overnight and do an inshore trolling/ chunking trip on Wed.

We pulled out at 4am and found the scallop boats and pulled in behind one just after first light, and that proved to be our down fall. Capt. Andy was running the Hooked Up and they were one a nice BFT (156#) and we were 20 minutes behind them, We saw and marked the fish but no takers.
That bite has been good but it drops off after first light. So we trolled around there and at Masseys all hell broke loose on False Albacore and Skippies,
Here is a triple hook up:

As you can see they were small, but on small gear these guys had a blast.

Seas were alittle bumpy in the morning with a west wind, but layed down nice in the afternoon.

Thursday into Friday we had the Dave Spadaccino Charter out to the Spencer Canyon overnight. The seas were awesome on the way out and we started at the Wilmington West notch and worked up the 100 and managed a dolphin and alot of short bites at the pots, 75 - 76 degrees. We set up just north and drifted. Caught our first YFT at 10:30 pm :

The wind came up and we moved up to the LIndy and got on the hook. We managed another YFT and LFT and one spit the hook.
Back at the dock with The 2 man charter and Capt. ANdy in the middle:

A tough night for us, and for some others, but heck some boats caught really well. My buddy was on the 10th Frame (50 Viking) and they were right behind us, they got 10, go figure.

OUr Sunday charter overnight has been rescheduled as well as our Monday overnigher, on account of the weather. We have Day Trolling/ Chunking trips wed, thurs, frid, and overnight on Sat into Sun, so lets hope the weather holds.

The weeds are still very thick and making it almost impossible to be productive on the troll, so the chunking may be the ticket until the weeds thin out alittle, Good luck if you are going out.
