Seriously, I wish someone would weigh in with some decent analysis here. I think it is up for question whether the current agenda is good or bad for fishermen. While I do not like the idea of some great grounds becoming MPAs, I think the broader benefits of some serious ecosystem management is a worthy trade. Anyone who has seriously studied what has happened to our offshore and inshore fisheries in their lifetime (assuming they can legally drink anyway) should seriously consider whether some action is needed, and if so they can find a better realistic approach. If they have any ideas they should bring them to groups like (and including) RFA.
I really think people should stop thinking only about some of their favorite fishing spots and consider for a bit whether our children will have the luxury of having any fishing at all.

PEW Says it all.
Pew Charitable Trust!
That's who Jane Lubchenco is. Pew paid for Jane's education and false research She's been alligned with the Pew Charitable Trust for many years!
This outfit has sunk many dollars into Jane and her co-horts and have managed to get their agenda inside of congress and NOAA fisheries.
PEW and now Jane Lubchenco is the enemy.
Unless your an Environmental, PETA loving Tree Hugger DO NOT think that any of their agenda will be good. The will only stop when all fishing is prohibited. Give them an inch, and they will take a mile.

Here's the continuing effort to shut down the beaches on Hatteras Island. Audbon Society, PETA, EDF, etc., are all freak liars who should get real jobs and spend some real time on the beach and offshore noting that people and animals can coexist with smart regulation. Share the resources - don't try to hog it all for eco tours.
