Back at it today... Purple Cedar Plug though started out of the gate on my wrong side.Instead of a heavenly set of stems propping up a shapely Mrs Plug, he brings me some hairy guy who happened to be Tommy Lasordas nephew. Nice enough guy but rough on the eyes...

Well the trees weren't quite touching the ground but the fronds were flappin pretty good. I made the bone jarring half mile to the spot and deployed the spread. Four nakeds, two circle and two J were joined by my favorite two day savers.
As the conversation drifted off to baseball I had to dig into the Deep bag of tricks and adjust course to neeter Hell... I did and the sticks started bendin. Ok that shut em up. Now I could get back to sail prospecting. Only problem was somebody forgot to turn the neeters off and they stayed on us solid through the morn.
Now PCP who was on my short list for not bringing Mrs Plug got into a rythm at this point. The Purple Cedar Plug had turned into the purple seedless grape. Talk about hooks by Goodyear! man did he whiff a lot...![]()
That was ok on the neeters but suddenly there was purple in the spread. The first didn't touch a bait. Then a double came up. I will bow my head in shame as I whiffed one PCP followed suit.
The day moved along then we almost ran over a hardwood tree stump.I would have figured dolphin but zilch on the first pass. Second pass though there came the purple ones. Swings and misses at the first two. Swing and a miss on one the next pass. I believe that put us at 0-5.
Next pass here came the green. No mass schools just ones and twos. We boxed seven or so of mixed sized mahi before we had been blown in too shallow. We got straightened back up and pounded my areas. Neeters kept us busy. A big barrel held another dolphin or two. A blue runner added to the tally then here came a sail again. PCP was at bat.I don't know why I bother to wate the key strokes, you already know... Whiff!![]()
A couple mystery bites a couple cuda bites and the sun started heading to the horizon. I had a box of fish to clean a well worn out crew and we made for the W on the compass. With the kind of action we had today missing the sails really was a mute point. You cant complain about going through 4 dozen baits and umteen zillion lure bites...![]()
