Legends score world pending record in NZ

    Here we go again:

    Roddy;

Just had a phone call from John Batterton. The boat is in Houhora and they have just finished weighing two national and one world records, including a 4kg effort of 94kgs for Erin Jacobson. It sounded suspiciously to me as though they were having a beer or two - at 9.05am !!!

All the fish ate a 16 Krakatoa in lumo (Lumo is a registered trademark of Pakula Tackle). In John’s word, “awesome lure - does things a regular lure just cannot do”.

They also lost a 22 Piper to a fish 20 minutes after putting it in the water. It’s the first teaser John has ever lost. The last they saw of it it was still jumping for Tahiti.

Apparently my next run of Pipers and Krakatoas is now all spoken for..........grin.

Jay... "But i still have a bunch Rodski.... lol"

    Subject: record stripey!

    Morning Roddy
John weighed 2 stripies on 4kg for Eryn last night up in Houhora.
First one was 84.5kg and .5kg off the world record but still a National record and the 2nd fish went an amazing 93kg which is a pending world record for her. She was just .5kg off having 2 world records in a day and beating her own in the same day.
Needless to say they are all thrilled to bits.
They busted a couple off on 1kg for Guy and had around 20 shots for the 4 days with a few fish being busted off on the leader & off course a fair bit of broken line. They have dropped Eryn off and gone back out with Guy only on board to try again for him.
    cheers for now
    Meg

    Boat : Hook 'n Bull, 47 G&S

    Captain : John Batterton

    Crew: Brad and Rowan

Anglers : Erin and Guy Jacobson

Between Friday and Monday night, this crew caught four fish of note this past weekend.

    A 4kg woman's NZ record striped marlin of 85kgs
    A 4kg woman's World Record striped marlin of 93kgs
    A 1kg men's World Record striped marlin of 105kgs
An 8kg men's NZ record blue marlin of 170kgs

Not a bad weekend's fishing, heh ? I cannot empathise with the silly string , but none the less that's quite some angling achievment. The blue marlin took over two hours apparently. No details on the other battles.

The 170kg blue caught on 8kg, a new NZ record

The 105kg striped marlin caught on 1kg, a new WR

A fella wearing a shirt with a happy lass who's just broken the 4kg striped marlin WR with a fish of 95kgs

The 4kg womans striped marlin WR took over three hours.

The 1kg men's striped marlin WR took over ten minutes and the leader was in hand only at the end of the fight - the fish jumped lots.

The 8kg men's blue marlin NZ record took over two hours.
