LEGASEA Poor Girls Open Report

I am going to be quick with this report as we are about to head over to the Marlin Club.

We ended up going 4-8 on whites, but here is the cool part (or stupid on my part). We thought we only had 3 releases as my mate, the infamous John Rodgers, didnt actually grab the leader, however it was wound into the rod tip which we found out after the fact actually counts as a release, so we ended up with 4. What happend with that fish was we had a double hooked up which was great work on Johns part as he was dropping back to one on the left short, the left long rigger popps and John drops that one back from the rod holder...DOUBLE HEADER!!! Pretty work bud.

The best part about this tourney was that Stacey is now 13 months in remission from Hodgekins lymphoma and just caught not only her first white, but also her second yesterday!!!!! Lot of emotions last night, but a few orange crushes fixed that right up

Bill, if you look at the 4th pic down it almost looks like a rat blue. We only pulled 2 fish on the boat for pics as we released our 4th at 2:38 and wanted to be quick about it. Nothing like running an outboard boat like a sport fish and backing down like crazy...lil John almost blew off the transom )

Thanks guys...i was a very special tournament and to come in 6th out of 89 boats i am very proud of my girls.
