I have never seen a company pay out if there is a loss while running an illegal charter operation...
first in many policies there is an exclusion right off that bat that excludes dishonest acts - if on your application you state no chartering..right there is cause enough for them to say no to coverage on a claim.....but then some policies go on further to state out right........"We do not cover any losses or dmages while your boat is being used for charter or commercial purposes un less we agree to such use in writing. - Recreational buisness entertaining of clients on board your vessel is NOT charter or commerical use"
Insurance companies are very strict when it comes to paying claims...some are easy to work with and then some our not - depending on the situation, amount and past loss history...I can not stress the importancy of telling your agent the minute something happens...that its what we are here for. And its important to know exactly what kind of policy you are getting yourself in to.
It was a pleasure working with you too Wasabi......
