Leader Preference?
Hey guys,
I have been reading the recent topic on leader length but I needed some clarification. When you guys talk about wind on leaders, do you just have your mainline tied to a windon swivel, then the length of fluoro attached to the lure? Or in order, mainline-->wind on swivel-->fluoro-->lure? Do you prefer to tie the fluoro to the swivel or crimp it? I am still fairly new to tuna fishing and I want to do everything possible to increase my chances. Thanks in advance

Crab mustard is good
The stealth way is main line to spro swivel then leader with hook at the end the idea is to keep the swivel out of the water.

Stop staring at my Avatar.
My way is main line tied to the spro and the leader crimped to the spro.

Great,
thanks for the help.

Yep, what smoke said...but I personally wouldn't get hung up on the fluoro, I have never been convinced it is more productive than regular mono leader in a trolling application.

This is not meant to derail the thread (I guess it's really the same topic), but just a question I have been wondering about for a while. This may help arthurj as well??
Is the spro a necissity, or could a uni to uni be used to tie main line to leader?? I would imagine line twist isn't too much of a problem?
thanks

Line twist can and does become a huge problem.

One more question...
I've seen that most have good luck with light leaders (60-100lb) but is this true for lures, ballyhoo, or both? For instance, what size leader do you guys rig your jetheads or cedar plugs with? I will most likely be pulling lures with a few ballyhoo mixed in.
Thanks again,
Al
