Talking Ladies Day (07-29-08) 5 for 8 whites on Covert Mission!!!

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! Once again I had a memorable trip on the Covert Mission!!!

We had owner Sandy (of course), Samantha, Sue Shaw, myself, and the dynamic duo of Capt. Keith Greenberg and First Class Mate Jeff Theill! We left the dock while the stars were still twinkling and the girls took our naps while the guys took us to our destination.

Woke up to some flat seas and beautiful weather. Saw a couple of boats already there and we set up for our troll; about 8:30 we get our first hit and Jeff gets it ready for Sami to fight the fish. Sami's a trooper and gets her to the boat in about 10-15 minutes for Jeff to get the release and take some pics for the memory book.

Our next hook up happens by chance while Jeff is teaching me what to do when a white does come up. He's a great teacher and is showing me what do on the flat line and we go thru the motions, after about 10 minutes of this we happen to look down and as we see a fin Capt. Keith yells down "LEFT FLAT!!!!". Jeff no sooner get me ready to fight the fish than the other flat goes off and we have a DOUBLE HEADER!!!! I'm on one rod and owner Sandy is on the other. Jeff patiently coaches me thru what I need to do and Sandy and I go over and under about 2 times. Capt. Keith manuevers the boat to try and help both of us and Sandy generously yells up to Keith to make sure we get my fish first since it's my first. He's like "we can get them both"!! After about 15-20 minutes I finally see the leader on my white and Jeff goes for it to get the release. He quickly gets the leader I get to see it jump a couple of times (AMAZING!!!) and then she's released. I get my gear off and now we're off after Sandy's white. She's kept her fish out there while we've been playing w/mine and she quickly gets it in for Jeff to work the leader and get the release. WE GET THE DOUBLE HEADER!!!! My first white and it's a double header!!!! WOW!!!!!

Here's Sandy's beautiful white before it was released.

    Report to be cont'd . . .

    Thumbs up 5 for 8 cont'd . . .

Our fourth hook-up of the day actually started out to be another DOUBLE-HEADER! Sue Shaw and Owner Sandy get hooked up but unfortunately Sandy's jumps off leaving Sue to fight her first as well. Sue is a amazing at how quickly she gets this fish to the boat for the release!!! Jeff gets the leader and before he does the release the white puts on quite a show!

    Our last release . . .

. . . but not the least. Owner Sandy was also out there to learn alot more to be able to contribute to the awesome Covert Mission team, well Keith and Jeff's teaching skills did not fail. Sandy is definitely an awesome angler in her own right and proved that by hooking her first white yesterday!!!! We all held our breath as we waited to see what surfaced, we knew she got the hook-up but none of us had seen what it was; so when it surfaced we were all cheering! Sandy finished up her hook-up w/angling it to the boat for a quick release by Jeff! This was a spectacular finish to an amazing day!

Here's pics of Sandy's Hook to Release!

Talking So all in all . . .

. . . we ended our day w/5 for 8 on whites, 2 for 2 on dolphins, and 3 for 3 on first whites for the newbies!!!!!

THANK YOU to Sandy, Jeff, and Capt. Keith on making a spectacular memory for myself, Samantha & Sue!!!

Oh yeah, for those of you wondering out there if we got tossed in??!!?? We actually offered to jump into the ocean while we were offshore but it never happened; unfortunate for us that we were tossed in back @ the dock (but lucky for us the water was actually somewhat clean and it was hi-tide!).

One last note, we do have one more person to toss into the water. So Sue, if you're reading this, watch out!!! Covert Mission Sandy is looking for you !!!!!!!!!!!

If I'm out fishing (whether I'm catching or not) it's definitly not a bad day. I enjoy just being out there!!!

BTW, were you out there yesterday???? Wasn't sure if you were on one of the boats I saw.

WTG on your first whitey! its good that y'all got thrown in instead of just jumping in, thats how the tradition goes. jumping in on your own does you no good, and its better juju if the dunking is in the marina!
