    Kona or Kauai charter recommendations

Getting married on Oct. 10 and heading for HI for 2 weeks. The bride and I want to go and catch a blue one while we are there.

Anyone have any recommendations for any boats in either area? Will be on Kauai the first week and Kona area the second.

    Thanks

    Capt. Brent

I've fished with Capt Jerry Allen on Sea Dancer 3 days in 2 different trips - Billfish tally - 3 BM, 3 Stripeys, 1 Short-nosed Spear

a couple mahi and ahi to boot as well.

Jerry is big on catch and release... His rates are reasonable for just 2 people, his gear is in good shape....

Kona boasts some great boats and captains - I just don't have any first hand experience with the others.

Look up Capt. Kenny Llanes if you do Kona. A treat to fish with and be around.

Dee Bradford on High Noon or Kevin Hiney on Bite Me would be good choices for Kona. Both boats are comfertable and the skippers are very personable and knowledgeable.

I'd fish with Chip on the Monkey Biz he's been on a great role this summer. He got a 1064 blue in June, and a handfull over 500lbs.

Any of the Llanes family will give you a good trip. I fished with their father John years ago and their Mom mated. She was the head housekeeper at the King Kamamaha Hotel but in Hawaii, if you have a family business and you are needed, you get the day off. We had a great time that day. Lovely people.

My wife caught a Short Nose Spearfish that would have been a Women's Record for 50# but we were fishing for the Blues Brothers and it missed the 80# record by 3 pounds.

Kona is my favorite place in the world.
