    Kite question?

Okay I originally bought an aftco kite and began reading that parafoil kites are the way to go so I returned the aftco and went online and bought a 38" parafoil kite. Its not the fishing kite but it looks just like the fishing one. When I fly it it seems to dance around quite a bit instead of staying in one place is this normal? Do the parafoil kites made for fishing do the same thing or do they remain pretty stationary. Just getting into kite fishing and need some help any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have also heard a lot of people talk about parafoil kites for fishing. All I can tell you is all the top pros fishing the high dollar sailfish tournaments use the regular aftco or similar square style kites for fishing. It speaks for itself.

most parafoils need a tail to stabilize, some are long tails and some are shorter three part tails. Did you have some type tail on yours? I prefer the SFE kite for anchoring fishing, the parafoil may be better on the troll, I don't know.

Yeah has about a four foot tail on it. I was tring to fly it on a pretty hilly place in north ga and didn't know if that had to do with the wind inconsistencies.

The guys useing parafoils , I believe, are pulling them at trolling speeds for tunas.

For live bait the old style kites are the ticket.
