    Kite Fishing Setup Question

I'm upgrading my kite set up from manual to an electric what would be a good choice? Kristal 601, Electra mate 6/0, Precision reel or just a fast retrieve manual reel give me some insight here kite gurus.

    Kristal is too expensive IMO.

I have been using electric reels for 4 years. The best I have found so far are the Precision Auto Reels. They are made in Greenville, NC by Anthony and Alex Ing. They are about the best bottom fishermen in the business.

The reels are compact, water proof and they hold up to the roughest abuse.

They also cost less then the Kristal or Electra mates. Not to mention, those Electra mates are big and bulky and look kinda silly to me.

Give Anthony a call and tell him your a friend.

    Electra mate

I use a 4/0 electramate and it is plenty in any wind you would put a kite up in, but if I had it to do over, I would do a 6/o electramate.

get the one with the switch rather than the push button.

I have used them all, we kite fish down here year round. My main concern is that they do not break or blow fuses ect... for kites the most reliable are the Dolphin.

They may not be the fanciest but the pull hard and do not fail. good luck with what ever you choose.
