If this is the one about the Japanese, it's very old and grainey. I've seen it on several other forums. Nothing new about it. Their ocean, their rules. If you don't like it don't buy their products.

Thanks for the insight considering you didn't watch THIS video. And sorry, it's not their ocean, it's the world's ocean...and it has nothing to do with their products or manufacturing. It has to do with cruel and merciless killing.

I've said it before similar behavior exist in all international fisheries. The efforts to control U.S. flagged commercial fishing vessels are a waste of time and money! The real killers of everything that swims are the foriegn vessels. I have personal experience in many types of commercial fishing and can say these things from first hand knowledge. I also love to sportfish and appreciate the value of the resource for everyone.

I have showed this to many people who could not watch the whole thing because it is so terrible. I had trouble getting through it myself but forced myself to watch.

Something so reserved and beautiful!!!!
It makes it all the more worse when you watch that video and see how graceful these creatures are. How could anyone who has a heart do such a thing. I dont get why we feel so connected to these mammals, as if they were our own pets. When I catch a fish, I feel so excited and it doesn't matter what it is. I mean seriously, I bet most of the time we dont even think twice about cutting up live bait or fileting a fish if we need to. I dont know that anyone can really put into words why we feel this way, but I've been pondering how I could while reading all of these posts. This would be a great topic to research on more and really find out the tiny details. If I ever have a research paper to do, I'll try to remember this topic, just because its something that needs to be brought to peoples attention. We can only hope that one day, this drive hunting can be stopped. I know its a personal opinion on weather this is cruel slaughter or a way to make a living, but I lean more towards the fact that it should be stopped. Many people probably find this as a way to put food on the table for their families, and I understand that, but its obvious that there are plenty of other ways to pay the bills. On the subject of health issues in the meat of these fish, this is another reason for this to stop. With all of the other diseases there are out their, we all have others problems that need to be dealt with, not add another one. If only there was some way that we could put an end to this. Although the people of Japan may not notice this, they are eventually going to kill off many of these species of dolphin. I read many of the stats and its just plain outrageous that so many of these elegant creatures are being beaten to death every year. I've put a lot of thought into this, and if Japan thinks this drive hunting is legal, thats like saying its legal to catch Great Whites or go and shoot polar bears for fun. Because I've been up since 5 and I can barely keep my eyes open, I leave my response with continuing thoughts on how to put an end the slaughter of these precious creatures that are so beautiful.

Thanks for your opinion. Apparently you didn't see this one - http://www.glumbert.com/media/dolphin narrated by Joaquin Phoenix. View at your own risk.

It is their own ocean and they are exempt from US rules. I'm not defending them, never will.

I have orcas in my area and it's the eco-tourists that I need to keep away from the pods, not commercial fishermen.

In another forum this went on for a month and had 206 postings. None offered a solution, because there is none.
