Hello Everyone, I just got home on the weekend from 4 weeks in Key Largo Fla. Had several cold fronts move through the first few weeks , with strong winds from the north and well below average temps. It made it hard to get out in my 19 footer, and gave the fish lockjaw anyway. Week 3 I came down with the flu, and spent 3 days in bed with a fever, and several more days coughing my lungs out. Finally got a good day to get offshore, and I was eagar to drag some Hoo's that I had caught and rigged myself. I had great expectations, but came up with a big fat zero. Got out to the patch reefs another day with a buddy in his 24' Mako, and we hooked up 4 groupers, only to be sheared off by the sharp coral below. We took a couple of land lubbers on that trip, and when they started puking over the gunnel, we called it a day. Went offshore one other day for some trolling, and after several hours of dragging gear, we finally picked up one nice dolphin that hit a small tuna feather. Even my favorite spots on the bayside, where I have caught several groupers in past years, were not producing.....Oh well....That's fishing.!!!
