Just wondering about Mexican swords

Down around Vera Cruz, the Continental Shelf gets really skinny, with the break looking like its hardly outside the surf. Does anyone know if it has been explored as a deep drop site for swordfish? Are tilefish possible that far south? I plan on being down there around the first of April, and might give it a try if it hasn't already been disproven.

I have family from Mex.. I have heard excellent things about Veracruz and it fishing. But, nothing about swords, although it makes sense. So far the hotspot for swords in Mex. is Mazatlan! Good luck, keep us informed
