just a few off of Kona

Howzit going guys?? I just got off the boat after 6 hours of trolling. There was a tournament going on and there were something like 137 boats that entered. Not to mention the other 50 or so charter boats that was patrolling the waters. The tournament catered to the smaller boat fisherman like us although we didn't enter because some of us have an afternoon shift. Driving out there was like afternoon traffic along the freeway/highway. So many boats that every turn you made you ran into someone's line and this is out here in the vast open sea that goes on for hundreds of miles.

Anyways we found out that the FADS were all not happening and decided to go in. Just so happen we encountered some Ono (wahoo) that were in our way. After a half hour or so we had 14 and 1 small Ahi. What a workout! No marlin and no big Ahi but we're happy that we had some action.

This is the end of our season so we were darn lucky to stumble a pack of hungry wolves. Whew

. I need some sleep right now.

He bring hid Keikeis fo see home..

Can ya check out the 4th july tournament for us?? Maybe a picture or two?? Good chance fo Kona ta win da world cup again!!! We need a camera man on station,,,can ya help??

I'll see what i can do Slayer. I probably won't be on the ocean during those times as you know what goes on in Hawaii when a holiday comes along. Yup! Time to party.... hawaiian style

. We'll all be eating the fish instead of catching them. But if I am down at the harbor... i'll be sure to snap some for you guys to see.

hey guys. . . sitting here looking out over Waikiki beach and loving life. I am gonna try to get over to Kona over the 4th, but it will be hard. I have been snapping plenty of pics over here so far so I will be sure to post an album when i get home. Im on a guest comp here so I cant load any pics. Im fishing on friday, so ill post a report then.

Hope the Atlantic is treating yall well. . . cuz i could certainly get used to this pacific stuff!!!

If ya get time ta have breakfast at the Pacific Beach Hotel on the beach accros the street from the Duke Statue...Pretty good buffet and a gigantic saltwater aquarium, three stories high..

Went out yesterday. One ono... thats it. Fishing is slowing down a bit

. But one of our friends lost a 200 + lb ahi right at leader. 9/0 senator on a standup and it almost spooled him. Hour into the fight and at leader... fish shook and threw the hook. Hell I would've dived in after the thing after that long.

The ahi's have been chewing the last few days here. Alot around Moloaa and on the west side here in Kauai around Port Allen. I got a 166lb. yesterday and had a couple of marlin strikes today. Not many bites,but what I get are good. Lost a huge black about a week ago. Don't know exactly how big,but well over 800lb. Oh well. I'll get'em next time.
