Hi all,
Just got some quite cool news through from Westport in the South Island Of New Zealand where the bluefin are going off. This one was landed on the charter boat Te Ariki Nui ,
14-year-old Christchurch boy Andrew Hargen is hoping to enter the world record books after catching a blue fin tuna weighing in at 268 Kg / 630.52 lbs
"It was an epic battle. I sort of got him to the boat then he went away, went down deep, came up and it happened a couple of times," says Andrew.
Apologies for the crap photo , but only one available so far

The Fight time approx 1hr on 37KG Mono, 80W Tiagra I believe.
At just seven he set a world age group record for catching the largest marlin but he did not stop there.
"He nagged me, made my life miserable, so I had to," jokes his Dad, Alan.
Had to take him out fishing again that is. He doesn't enjoy fishing trips any more because he never catches any fish when he goes with his son.
"It's shocking. I'm going to give up," he says.
All the details of the great catch have been sent to the IGFA for confirmation.
