July Meeting

Dear Norfolk Anglers Club Members & Guests:
Our next meeting will be at Martin's Restaurant this coming Monday, July 11th at 7 PM.

We will cover the following topics:

1. Guest Speakers - Don Foreman & Don Lancaster will talk about Cobia Fishing, both are renowned Cobia Fishermen.

2. The activities committee has decided to see if everyone is in for a cobia tournament late this month or early August, while the bite is still on.

3. We need to start formulating our own bylaws, if anyone has a list from another anglers club we can look at to get ideas it would be very helpful. We will be naming a committee to tackle this important topic.

4. I have asked Tony to get the information for the Anglers Club Challenge to see if we can get teams together to compete against the other anglers clubs sometime in September.

If there are any other topics that are important to you, please feel free to let me know by email or phone Cell (757)535-6868, so we don't miss any opportunities.

Also - Don't forget the Menhaden meeting on Tuesday evening at 6 PM in Gloucester. Menhaden is probably The Most Important Resource in the Chesapeake Bay and it's tributaries.

I am looking forward to seeing you all at the meeting, I hope we have a great turnout.

Hey Lucian,
We are going to the TDLF gathering. However, at our July meeting a social was mentioned. When in August are we doing that? Our schedule is filling up even if I'm still a gimp. We have the Grady White tourny next weekend. Brian and I volunteered our boat for the CCA tourny.... but don't know if we were considered as we have limited room. 4 is ok but 5 is tight.
I am going crazy with the limited fishing.... but Brian gave in and took me out to try our hand at cobia.... which wasn't a success, fish wise.
Please let us know what the status of the next get together is!!

I spoke to Tony and I have your answers.

1. CCA Challenge - Your boat has been chosen, We will finalize who is fishing for what at the next meeting, which will be at Martin's on Monday 8/8 7pm.

2. The cookout will be on Sat. 8/13, 3pm at Taylors Landing, the information is listed on the website http://norfolkanglersclub.com/events.htm
