just to get the word out the canal thieves are out in ft. lauderdale! Between the hours of midnight and 5 a.m. friday morning at least two maybe three people boarded our 64 viking with lights, tvs, and unfortunately for them boat and house cameras rolling.we also came up with fingerprints off the rub rail where they pulled alongside our boat and held on while one guy slithered over the covering board and got 7 of my 8 tlds! luckily they got spooked before they got the real expensive stuff. i'm putting this out there just to let others know to be careful because while i've had them hit an un-occupied house or boat i've never seen them have the balls or desperation to board a boat while obviously occupied and ussually this will go on for a week or two before they get caught.
I doubt we will ever see the stuff again but if some idiot shows up at your local tackle shop or dock with 7 tld30 2-speeds on shimano black tallus rods do all of us in this industry a favor and call the cops, but more importantly don't leave anything out even if your around. If anyone has a similar story in the lauderdale area of late pm me and i will hook you up with the officer working these cases.
thanks,
blaine

I volunteered to spend the cold stormy night (South Florida July 84 degrees) on one of the sportfishing yachts (68 Viking).
