I have a Daiwa Saltist 50 spooled with 340 yds of 150 lb. power pro.
Shimano has their high speed high $$$ reel. What's going to hold the best and perform the best for the money?
I like my Daiwa but am willing to listen to alternatives...

SHIMANO OCEA JIGGER 4000P newest line from Shimano...anybody heard of 'em?
penn international torque 300? any comments?

Penn international torque 300 doesnt have enough drag IMHO. If your looking for conventional I would say the accurate 665 2 speed is made to stop monsters.
Only 26 ounces, 2 speed, 400 yards of 80 braid with room for a topshot, 38 max drag with cast control. Its the perfect small lightweight with BALLZ jigging reel.
If your looking towards spinning Shimano Stella hands down
I would honestly say there is a world of difference in between the $399 Penn Torque 300 with an Accurate 665 2 speed. A few note worthy differences for the $179.00 difference.
1. Speed/Power: The torque has a SINGLE high speed retrieve which is great for fast moving fish like wahoo, but several notable reviews have said the 6:1 ratio is hard on you when you have a 100 tuna attached. The Accurate 665 is two speed boasting a 5:1 AND a 2:1 for horsing that fat tuna up on your deck. So your getting a low speed and a high speed for the price of 1
2. Handle ... not a big deal but the torque has a short handle which is hard to turn under full load while the accurate has a longer power handle.
3. Drag ... bottom line most large tuna you need to use at least 20 lbs to land in any decent time frame. The torque doesn't even come close to the 37 lbs the accurate offers
4. Service ... I can send my Accurate's in every year for any updates and service in a very fast manner I have them back and ready to roll for next to nothing. I haven't owned a penn in ages so I don't know if they offer free upgrades etc
So in conclusion, I see a world of difference in the reels but that my opinion and I am far from a reel expert but I was one of the first people with the 665 2 speeds and I have bought several since. Take it for what its worth just an opinion
