If your on a trailer head to HI and jig the rockpile, we did it about 10 days ago just to kill a blow day out of OI to the stream, and it was a blast, had about 12 bites in 2 hours (2 of us), kings, blackfins and skips. Boat next to us, got a sea bass several grouper and lots of sharks, I think they were using cut bait.

All I did was cruise around the east edge or the backside of the rockpile until we marked some suspended fish, dropped jigs in the right water column and it was steady action.

LOTS of bite offs, so if you go bring cheap jigs and maybe a little wire leader on one setup.

But the black fins were a nice surprise, not even expected.

Water temp was 59.5 at that time.

Kept the kings and the black fin, first time catching a king and it was good on the grill.

    OI jigging

There is a tower about 25-30 miles out east of the inlet. Generally has amberjack on it and they are easy to catch in May and June. Not sure if they are there with the labrador pushing down so hard. You can always jig for tiles in 45 fathoms or try deep jigging on the point. Not sure what would be on the point????

There are three towers east of OI, B, G, C,

C and G are 18 miles, G is just south of east of the inlet, C is just north of east. B is out 25 north of east. Probably too early for much there though

B tower. thats what I was talking about. Caught some Jacks there in late may. Hell is the only thing I could think of out of OI unless you run down to the 280 rocks near HI.
