The circle hook method is way easier than the J-hook actually. J-hook you have to split the gut and sew it shut.
If you want to rig a mack the right way, it has to be gutted and sewn up with a J or circle.

10-4....that's the way I've always done it, but wasn't sure if there was a "cheater method" with the J.
